PFLUGERVILLE, TX — Pflugerville police is rewarding kids to be safe this summer with sweet treats through its Cool Moves program.

Officers will be on the lookout for children showing “cool moves” through August 31. This includes looking both ways before crossing the street, wearing a helmet while riding a bike or skateboard, using hand signals while riding a bike and using crosswalks.

Police said kids witnessed practicing these safe behaviors will receive a "Cool Moves" ticket from a police officer. These tickets reward them with a free treat from participating partners, including Dairy Queen, Andy’s Frozen Custard and even Blue Bell Ice Cream.

While these interactions are fun, they’re also important safety lessons, authorities said. Each summer Pflugerville officers give out hundreds of tickets to safety-conscious children.
