Pflugerville Police Accepting Blue Santa Applications, Donations

The Pflugerville Police Department asks residents to help with a special operation ensuring all families and children enjoy the holidays.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX — The Pflugerville Police Department is asking the community to help with a special operation to ensure that all local children and families can enjoy the spirit of the season.

To that end, the public is invited to donate new, unwrapped toys and non-perishable food items at Blue Santa donations bins located at the Pflugerville Justice Center, City Hall, Recreation Center and other area businesses, schools and organizations. Every year, the program need gifts for children ages 10-14 and infants up to two years of age.

For suggestions, police advise checking out the Pflugerville Police’s gift registry on Target.com for gift suggestions. To access the registry, visit the Target website, click on registries and type “Pflugerville Police” for the first name and “Blue Santa” for the last name. Monetary donations are also accepted by check or money order mailed to Pflugerville Blue Santa, c/o Pflugerville Police Department, P.O. Box 679, Pflugerville, TX, 78691 or in person at the Pflugerville Justice Center located at 1611 Pfennig Lane.

"With 150 families served last year, the Pflugerville Police Department is grateful for the community’s support," officials wrote in a prepared statement.

Starting Nov. 4, the Pflugerville Police Department began accepting applications from Pflugerville families requesting assistance from Blue Santa this holiday season. New this year, families can apply online at pflugervilletx.gov/bluesanta or fill out an application in-person at the Pflugerville Justice Center until Friday, Dec. 6 at 5 p.m. Applicants should bring a valid Texas Driver's License and utility bill that shows a matching address as proof of residence in Pflugerville city limits.

Blue Santa is coordinated by the Pflugerville Police Department’s Office of Community Liaison and would not be possible without the additional sorting, wrapping and packaging by volunteers who come from Pflugerville community, businesses and volunteer organizations.
