Pflugerville Residents Urged To Partake In 'Pforty Mile Trail'
Through March, first 40 participants walking the city's trail system can claim sports bag, water bottle as reward for participation.

PFLUGERVILLE, TX — Parks and Recreation Department officials seem intent on helping some fitness-minded residents comply with their New Year's resolutions, urging participation in an annual trail walk.
Residents are encouraged to participate in a new Pforty Mile Trail challenge that kicked off Jan. 1 and runs through March 24. Participants may walk, bike or run on any of Pflugerville’s more than 40 miles of trails, with the first 40 people completing the challenge eligible to receive a Pflugerville sports bag and water bottle.
To claim the prizes, eligible participates should visit the Recreation Center at 400 Immanuel Rd. to claim their reward.

How to participate:
- Start using Pflugerville Trails. Participants may walk, bike or run, on one or all trails to complete the challenge, as long as the distance traveled totals 40 miles. Visit the interactive map for a list of trails or download a map at http://parks.pflugervilletx.gov/parks-facilities/trails/pforty-mile-trail-challenge.
- Participants can use any method to log miles traveled, however the Parks and Recreation Department recommends a MapMyRun.com account to track progress. Participants can “Pfriend” Pflugerville Parks and Recreation for the city to track a participant’s progress.
The Pforty Mile Trail Challenge was first introduced in July 2017 to celebrate Parks and Recreation Month. “Whether it’s your favorite park trail or one that you have yet to explore, we encourage everyone to get out and enjoy the outdoor leisure and exercise opportunities that Pflugerville has to offer,” Parks & Rec Director James Hemenes said.
