PFLUGERVILLE, TX — Texas transportation officials advise drivers of upcoming weekend road work starting Friday that may create delays.

Weather permitting, Texas Department of Transportation crews will close the northbound SH 130 main lanes this weekend so crews can safely install overhead toll equipment. Beginning at 9 p.m. on Friday, June 26, workers will close the northbound SH 130 mainlanes at the Pecan Street exit (#431). Drivers will be detoured to the Pecan Street exit to travel through the toll gantry and re-enter SH 130 just south of Pecan Street, officials explained.

All lanes are expected to reopen no later than Monday, June 29 at 6 a.m., according to an advisory.

Road signs have been placed to alert drivers of the closure. Last year, crashes in Texas work zones rose 3 percent, officials reminded, urging drivers to exercise extra caution when traveling through the construction area to keep workers safe.
