Police Seek Northeast Austin Robbery Suspect
The incident took place just before 3 p.m. at the Remco Auto Insurance offices at 8700 N. Lamar Blvd., according to a police advisory.
AUSTIN, TX — The Austin Police Department is investigating a robbery that occurred in northeast Austin on Wednesday, officials said.
The incident took place just before 3 p.m. at the Remco Auto Insurance offices at 8700 N. Lamar Blvd., according to a police advisory. Officials said the suspect entered the business while pointing a small, black handgun at an employee in demanding money.
According to the police account, the suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. He was last seen traveling westbound on Fairfield Drive, police added. The employee was unharmed, according to law enforcement officials.

The suspect is believed to stand about five feet, nine inches tall and is estimated to be between 25 and 35 years of age. He has a short haircut that is faded on the sides with a black tattoo on his right forearm. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt with “OP” on the front, red Champion-brand shorts with logo on the side, white Champion-brand slider flip-flops, black ankle socks and a black head/face covering. Detectives are asking anyone with information about this case to call robbery tip line at (512) 974-5092, Crime Stoppers at (512) 472-TIPS, submit a tip on the Crime Stoppers website or use the Crime Stoppers app. All information is anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000, police added. Those with information also can submit tips anonymously through the police department's mobile app, Austin PD, which can be downloaded for free on iPhone and Android.
