Wigs Left At Scene Of Fatal Shooting In North Austin
Police found a mortally wounded man and a pair of wigs at the scene near the Quail Creek Neighborhood Park.
AUSTIN, TX — Police are searching for at least one "person of interest" who may have left a wig behind at the scene of a fatal shooting in North Austin Friday.
Police found a mortally wounded man inside a car just after 9 p.m. at 1126 Mearns Meadow near the Quail Creek Neighborhood Park, according to an advisory. EMTs tried to save the man, but he died from his injuries about 25 minutes later, police said.
Witnesses told police they heard an argument and saw a struggle inside the victim's car. They heard gunshots and saw several people flee the scene, police said. A tan or silver four-door sedan, possibly a Toyota or Infiniti, was seen leaving the area immediately afterward, police said.

The name of the victim was withheld pending notification of his next of kin. Police said they believe the motive for the shooting was robbery. A person of interest may have been wearing one of the wigs pictured below when the shooting occurred, police said.
