Wildfire Conditions Persist in North Austin, Pflugerville Area

Bastrop, Travis and Williamson Counties still have favorable wildfire conditions.

Conditions remain favorable for wildfire spread in several Central Texas counties on Monday, according to the National Weather Service.

The main threat areas have been identified as Atascosa County and northeast of Interstate 10, according to a National Weather Service statement. Persisting dry air and fuels in the area are contributing to the wildfire threat.

  • Be ready to leave at a moment’s notice.
  • Listen to local radio and television stations for updated emergency information.
  • Always back your car into the garage or park it in an open space facing the direction of escape.
  • Confine pets to one room so that you can find them if you need to evacuate quickly.
  • Arrange for temporary housing at a friend or relative’s home outside the threatened area.
