Crosby ISD Students Plan To Welcome President Trump Today

Officials in Crosby ISD have pushed some STAAR testing back and planned an early release ahead of President Donald Trump's visit to Crosby.

CROSBY, TX — Students in Crosby ISD are expected to line FM 2100 with American flags ahead of President Donald Trump’s visit to the area on Wednesday. Officials in Crosby ISD announced on Tuesday that the state-mandated STAAR test would be pushed back to Thursday, and schools would release students and staff early to allow middle and high school students to take part in welcoming Trump to Crosby.

“Undoubtedly, this is a unique event for our community, and we recognize its historical importance,” Crosby ISD officials said in a statement on Tuesday.

Trump will be at the International Union of Operating Engineers International Training and Education Center in Crosby where he is expected to sign two executive orders related to the oil and gas industry.

Air Force One will land at Ellington Field near Pasadena sometime after 2 p.m., and the presidential motorcade will make the 45-minute trip to Crosby.

The motorcade is expected to impact traffic along Beltway 8, U.S. Highway 90, and FM 2100, which will be closed to all traffic ahead of Trump’s visit.

After his speech, Trump will return to Washington. Air Force One is expected to depart Ellington Field at about 7:15 p.m.
