Deer Park Golf Tournament to Raise Money for Special Olympics Team
A golf tournament in Deer Park will help raise money for a local Special Olympics team.

DEER PARK, TX — When the ancient Greek poets Hesiod and Aratus referred to the heat of the summer as "the Dog Days," they couldn't have predicted that over 2,600 years later they'd be naming a golf tournament on the other side of the world.
Registration for the third annual Dog Days Golf Tournament has already begun. The tournament will be held on Aug. 21 at Battleground Golf Course, 1600 Georgia Ave., with the proceeds benefiting the Deer Park Fireballs, a Special Olympics team.
