Former Pasadena EDC Board Members Indicted

A Harris County Grand Jury has indicted six former Pasadena EDC members for violating the Texas Open Meetings Act

PASADENA, TX — Six former members of Pasadena’s Economic Development board have been indicted by a Harris County grand jury for violating the Texas Open Meetings Act.

The board members are alleged to have held several private meetings in November 2016 to discuss remodeling several city facilities, including the city’s rodeo arena and convention center.

This incident is latest in Pasadena involving city officials.

The Texas Open Meetings Act is regulated by the state attorney general’s office and establishes requirements for elected and appointed government officials to conduct open and public meetings, giving the public direct access to actions related to local government.

Violations of the Texas Open Meetings Act is a Misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $500 and up to six months in jail.
