Health Fair and School Supply Giveaway in La Porte
St. Mark's United Methodist Church in La Porte will hold a health fair and school supply giveaway on Aug. 20.
LA PORTE, TX — St. Mark's United Methodist Church will sponsor a free health fair on Aug. 20. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Jeanie Riley Center, 322 N. Fourth St., in La Porte.
The fair will provide free screenings for: blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose and vision. There will also be staff on hand to help community members understand their cancer risks as well as to help them navigate the Affordable Care Act and to explain medications and nutritional needs.
Free backpacks will also be given to each child.
