Kurary America plans to spend $49 million to expand its Pasadena plant.

PASADENA, TX — Kuraray America is planning a $49 million expansion of its Pasadena plant, a process that could take about two years.
The addition will allow the Tokyo-based company to increase the production of ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer, EVAL, by 11,000 tons, to 58,000 tons per year.
EVAL is used in the manufacture of various types of packaging and for liners used to prevent soil pollution.
