La Porte ISD to Hold Breakfast With the Stars on Aug. 18.

LA PORTE, TX — The La Porte Education Foundation will hold its 21st annual Breakfast with the Stars at 7 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 18. The event will be at Sylvan Beach Pavilion, 1 Sylvan Beach Dr.

Breakfast with the Stars brings together hundreds of industry leaders, community members, and employees from La Porte ISD to celebrate the start of a new school year and to honor the district's 'stars,' the teachers.

The event recognizes past Education Foundation innovative project grant recipients, and spotlights LPISD educators who were 2015-16 honorees. The event also honors Campus Teachers of the Year and District Teachers of the Year.

The money raised from this event goes to support the educational projects for the teachers and students of La Porte ISD. A silent auction will be included as part of the event.

Items donated to the auction include: a vacation package to Disneyland, sports memorabilia, and field box tickets to a Houston Astros game. More items will be added closer to the date of the event. Cash, checks and credit cards will be accepted as payment for the auction.
