La Porte Man Pleads Guilty To Beaumont Bank Robbery

BEAUMONT, TX – An 18-year-old LaPorte man is on his way to federal prison after he pleaded guilty to bank robbery. Aaron Gonzalez pleaded guilty to bank robbery by force or intimidation on May 16, according to federal prosecutors in the case.
Prosecutors said that on Mar. 6, Gonzalez robbed the Texas First Bank on FM 834 in Hull, Texas by entering the bank and presenting a threatening note to a bank teller.
Gonzalez left the bank with approximately $7,350.00 in cash, but video surveillance and witness accounts of the bank robber and his vehicle led to his arrest.

He was indicted Apr. 3 by a federal grand jury. After his plea, Gonzalez will remain in federal custody until his sentencing this summer. Under the federal statute, Gonzalez faces up to 20 years in federal prison at sentencing.
