NASA Research Jet Slides Off Runway At Ellington Field
NASA officials said a WB-57 high altitude research aircraft was forced to abort take off after a malfunction in the aircraft landing gear.

HOUSTON — A NASA high altitude research aircraft experienced a malfunction during take off at Ellington Field and ran off the end of the runway Tuesday afternoon, officials said. The aircraft, a WB-57 research aircraft, was taking off, when the crew noticed a malfunction and aborted take-off.
Officials said the aircraft ran of the end of the runway and onto the grass. Crews towed the aircraft back to a hangar for maintenance.
No onboard the aircraft was injured.

Although the issue has not been identified, officials believe the malfunction occurred in the front landing gear.
