Pasadena ISD: Hall Of Fame Gives Back: $13K Donated To Fund Athletic Programs

The Pasadena ISD Athletics Hall of Fame (HOF) Committee presented three checks totaling $13,199 in mini grants for athletics programs. The grants were distributed during the Spring 2021 PISD Education Foundation Prize Parade.

Blood Flow Restriction Training - $5,000 Grant

Pasadena High School

Recipients: Jeremy Jackson, Sofia Mata / Health and Sports

The funding will be used for Blood Flow Restriction training. Considered one of the best “bio-hacks” available, Blood Flow Restriction training is a rehabilitation method that assists with the development of muscle strength for lower extremity weakness due to injuries. This tool is often used in athletic and clinical settings.

Mule/UTV for Emergency Response and Hydration Setup - $5,000

South Houston High School

Recipients: Jessica Pfannstiel, Michelle Nettles / Health & Sports

Funding for the Mule/UTV will allow South Houston HS athletic trainers to transport injured athletes and set up water and medical supplies for all outdoor events.

Keep up the Stats with Hack Attack - $3,199

Pasadena Memorial High School

Recipients: Terry Jon Garza, Edgar Garcia

Funding will be used to purchase a Hack Attack Pitching Machine, which will not only be used by the PHMS Maverick baseball team for their daily practice routine, but also during their annual summer baseball camps. The camp (the only one of its kind in Pasadena) is available to any students ages 6-13 residing within the Pasadena area. The Hack Attack Machine is unique in that velocity levels can be adjusted to fit the skill level of any camper.
