The shutdown of a process unit at the INEOS plant in Pasadena could trigger safety flaring.
PASADENA, TX — The shutdown of process unit at the INEOS Styrolution Bayport Plant in Pasadena could lead to intermittent use of a safety flare.
The safety flare burns off emissions so that offsite impact is not detected. There is also the risk of high pressure steam being released, which should only result in a loud noise and a white plume.
