San Jac College Offering Free Undersea Robotics Camp

San Jacinto College is offering a free undersea robotics camp in August.

Pasadena, TX -- The Aerospace Academy at San Jacinto College will hold a free SeaAero Camp to help people better understand the role underwater robotics play in the aerospace industry.

The week-long camp is funded by the Texas Workforce Commission's summer merit grant and is open to anyone from 14 to 21 years-old. The camp will involve underwater robotics and general engineering.

Topics to be discussed and demonstrated will include STS-51L (Challenger) and STS-107 (Columbia), as well as underwater robotics standards and the engineering design lifecycle. Participants will also learn about overcoming everyday challenges in robotics, SeaPerch construction and take tours of Space Center Houston and the University of Houston-Clear Lake robotics lab.
