Traffic Snarls Abound In H-Town This Weekend

Motorists should plan ahead this weekend with SH 288, FM 518 and I-45 being closed this weekend, but there are other hotspots too.

HOUSTON, TX — Traffic headaches loom large this weekend in Houston as Texas Department of Transportation get to work on two major roadways this weekend

The first of those is a total closure of State Highway 288 and FM 518 scheduled that begins Friday night as construction crews tear down a section of the SH 288 bridge that spans FM 518 over the weekend.

The total closure of SH 288 and FM 518 will begin at 9 p.m. Friday, and remain closed until 5 a.m. Monday with feeder roads open. Drivers can also detour to Almeda or Cullen during those times.
