Woman Killed In Officer-Involved Shooting After Grabbing Taser
A woman was killed in an officer-involved shooting after she allegedly grabbed a police officers Taser and used it on him to avoid arrest.
BAYTOWN, TX — Police are investigating the death of a 45-year-old woman who was killed during an officer-involved shooting Monday night. The shooting happened about 10:40 p.m. outside The Brixton apartment complex in the 1600 block of Garth Road, police said.
Investigators said the officer was patrolling the complex and saw the woman, identified as Pamela Turner. Police said officer recognized Turner as someone he’d had dealings with and knew she had an open arrest warrant.
Investigators said when he tried to arrest Turner, she began fighting him and refused to cooperate. The officer used his Taser on Turner, which had no effect.

Police said while the office was trying to handcuff Turner, she grabbed his Taser and used it on the officer.
Investigators said the officer, and 11-year veteran, drew his weapon and fired several times, hitting Turner once who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The officer has been placed on administrative leave. The case is under investigation by the Harris County District Attorney’s Office.
