Help Improve Evans Park Playground By Getting Involved

The last time the park got new playground equipment was in 1995.

PLANO, TX – The City of Plano is looking for your help improving Evans Park playground. A planning meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 15 at Liberty Recreation Center, 2601 Glencliff Drive, the city said in a news release. The park was built in 1974, and the playground was last updated with new playground equipment in 1995, the city said.

"The playground equipment has reached an age where it’s difficult to find replacement parts if damage occurs, and the playground area is no longer fully compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards," the city wrote. "Master planning the playground area allows the city to phase improvements to control costs, or engage in future master planning for the entire park, if necessary. It also allows our residents to participate in the process, and help us design for their needs."

There is currently no budget or timetable for the construction.
