Man Killed In Plano Hit And Run; Information Sought

Police say 36-year-old John Shelby was walking on the shoulder of the highway when he was struck by a passing car.

PLANO, TX — Police in Plano are looking for information regarding a Feb. 7 hit-and-run incident that left an injured pedestrian lying in the road. Officers responded to the call around 4:40 p.m. and found the 36-year-old victim lying in the roadway in the 6800 block of U.S. Highway 75, just south of Legacy Drive.

Police believe the victim, John Curtis Shelby, was walking on the shoulder when he was struck by a passing car. He was taken to a local hospital, but was later pronounced dead.

Shelby was wearing brown pants and a blue-striped button-down when he was struck. He had a shaved head and full beard.

Anyone who witnessed this hit-and-run is asked to call Plano Crime Stoppers at 877-373-8477. Tips that lead to an arrest and indictment will be rewarded with $5,000.
