MURPHY, TX -- Spring is upon us and the City Of Murphy has the first of the two annual trash and recycling events set. The first is on Saturday, April 13, at City Hall, 206 North Murphy Road, beginning at 9 a.m. and ending at noon, the city said in a news release.

"The event will utilize a different route along the City Hall driveway from previous years. The new configuration will still convert part of the city’s driveway into a drive-through, drop-off route, but with a slightly different entry and exit point," the city added.

Among the items accepted are electronics, batteries, household items, pet supplies as well as other items, the city said. Document shredding will also be available onsite. Also accepted are items listed as HHW or hazardous household waste. These include wet paint, fertilizers, solvents, chemical agents and other liquids and solids that can cause harm to the environment.
