ROUND ROCK, TX — A 47-year-old man was arrested after improvised bombs were found in his home near Round Rock early Tuesday, authorities said.

Lt. Jason Braeutigam, a detective for the Criminal Investigations Unit for the department, said at a news conference on Tuesday officials issued a warrant for Crawson after it was reported he had made a terroristic threat toward a family member in mid-January.

Braeutigam said when officers arrived to the scene, they searched Crawson's home and discovered "several" improvised explosive devices (IEDs). Six nearby homes were evacuated during the search. No injuries were reported.

Around 2 p.m. Tuesday, the devices were still in the home as the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) determined its risk.

By 4 p.m., residents were able to return to their homes once officials reopened the street. The street was closed off to the public since 11 a.m., Braeutigam said.

Braeutigam said the sheriff's department called in the Austin Bomb Squad, ATF and the Williamson County Precinct 4 Constable's Office to assist with the ongoing investigation.

Braeutigam said it was unclear as of Tuesday afternoon whether the explosives were made in the home or purchased elsewhere. The investigation remains ongoing.

As of 3 p.m. Tuesday, Crawson was still booked in Williamson County Jail. A bond has yet to be set, according to jail officials.
