Dell Diamond To Increase Capacity For Opening Game In Round Rock

ROUND ROCK, TX — Dell Diamond will operate at an increased capacity beginning with Round Rock Express' Triple-A opening day game against the Oklahoma City Dodgers on May 6.

The decision to increase capacity comes after Major League Baseball, Williamson County and the city of Round Rock gave the minor league team permission to expand seating for its upcoming season.

The team will open the 2021 season at 7:05 p.m. on Thursday, May 6 at Dell Diamond against the Oklahoma City Dodgers.

“We take tremendous pride in how this organization has hosted safe events throughout the pandemic, and we will continue to take all the necessary precautions to protect our fans,"Express President Chris Almendarez said. "MLB will enforce a mask requirement, hand sanitizer stations will be located throughout the stadium and we will provide socially-distanced seating areas in select sections of Dell Diamond, including the Home Run Porch.”

Dell Diamond will fully open seats in the lower seating bowl from sections 112-128 and the outfield berms. Sections 206-209 and sections 110-111 will remain in a pod-style seating format for those who wish to social distance, officials said.

All attendees age 2 or older must wear a face mask at all times except when eating or drinking at their assigned seat, according to the Express website. Hand sanitizer and hand-washing stations will be available throughout Dell Diamond with the facility cleaned and disinfected at regular intervals.

Tickets and parking passes will be digital to avoid unnecessary contact. Visitors are encouraged to either print their tickets at home or save the digital version to their phone to be scanned at entry, according to the website.

All Express season ticket members will be able to fully utilize their original seat location for the 2021 season, and members located in sections 112-128 will be able to move to socially distanced seating if they wish to do so, officials said.

All 2020 flex plans have been automatically deferred to the 2021 season with two additional bonus vouchers sent via email, free of charge. All 2020 single-game tickets will be matched at a two-for-one rate for the 2021 season. Tickets can be exchanged based on availability for all regular season home games.
