Eat A Dozen Donuts At 3rd Annual Round Rock Donut Dash 5K

ROUND ROCK, TX — The annual Round Rock Donut Dash 5K is back! Which means, foodies can finally unite to run for a dozen delicious donuts this weekend.

The 5K run will kick off at 7 a.m. Saturday at the Round Rock water tower in the city's downtown area. Saturday's event will mark the run's third year in the city.

Early registration ends at noon Friday and late registration will be from 6:15 a.m. to 7 a.m. Saturday, the city's website said. Early Registration starts at $35 for 12 years and up and $25 for 11 years and under.

Late Registration will start at $45 for 12 years and up and $35 for 11 years and under, the website said.

Those who register early, can pick up their packets from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at Round Rock Parks and Recreation's main office at 301 W. Baghdad.

Runners will be treated during the race's mid-point with a donut (or a dozen) from their favorite local donut shop, officials said.

Participants (12 years and up) will receive a commemorative Donut Dash t-shirt, donut swag and a dozen donuts. Participants 11 years and under will receive a dozen donut holes.

Challenger participants will receive a Finisher Award if they are able to finish the 5K run and donut feast if they are able to finish in an hour or less.

For those looking to take their time, the city will host a casual division for those who want to run and eat their donuts on their own time and a ZERO division for those looking to eat without running.

Following the race, runners will be treated to an after party featuring a band, free beer, coffee, food and games, officials said.
