Man Linked To Round Rock 2020 Homicide Arrested In Houston

A man wanted in a capital murder and deadly conduct case that dates back to September 2020 was arrested in Houston on Tuesday.

ROUND ROCK, TX — A man wanted in a capital murder and deadly conduct case investigation that dates back to September 2020 was arrested in Houston on Tuesday.

Raymond Salazar Jr., 19, was arrested Tuesday morning in Southeast Houston by the U.S. Marshals Service Gulf Coast Violent Offender and Fugitive Task Force, according to Round Rock police.

Salazar Jr. will be booked in Fort Bend County Jail on a felony capital murder charge, stemming from a September 2020 incident in Round Rock. His bond was not available.

On Sept. 25, 2020, police responded to a call around 3:40 p.m. for a report of a stabbing on Rawhide Loop in Round Rock, the news release said.

Officers found a 17-year-old man with a stab wound. The man was taken to an area hospital where he died. The man was later identified as Adam Hilzer.

Police said Salazar was initially named a person of interest in the case on Oct. 9, 2020. On Feb. 26, Round Rock police alerted the public to keep their eyes out for the wanted man.

Round Rock police said the United States Marshals Service Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, FBI Violent Crimes Task Force, Texas Department of Public Safety, Houston Gang Task Force and other agencies assisted in the case.
