Road Work Ahead For I-35 In Williamson County

I-35 main lanes northbound and CR 305 bridge scheduled for closure on Wednesday, April 10, starting at 9 p.m. down Jarrell way.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TEXAS — Headed down Jarrell way, residents? If so, be advised of Interstate 35 and bridge closures coming up to accommodate road work.

The I-35 main lanes northbound and CR 305 bridge are scheduled to be closed on Wednesday, April 10, starting at 9 pm., the Texas Department of Transportation said. Work crews will temporarily close the sections in alternating directions beginning at 9 p.m. on both Wednesday and Thursday nights, while crews and cranes lift and place large beams for a new CR 305 bridge.

  • Wednesday, April 10 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. (northbound).
  • Thursday, April 11 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. (southbound).

The closures will affect northbound I-35 motorists on Wednesday night, April 10, and southbound I-35 motorists on Thursday night, April 11, weather permitting. Traffic will detour to exit 277 and re-enter I-35 at the next open entrance ramp. In addition to the I-35 mainlane closures, both directions of CR 305 over I-35 will also close at 9 p.m. The I-35 mainlanes and CR 305 will reopen at 5 a.m. the following day.

Drivers wishing to cross I-35 at CR 305 will detour south to Avenue J or north to Hill Road. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes as delays are expected.

Road signs have been placed to alert drivers of the upcoming closures. TxDOT asks the traveling public to be patient, adhere to construction signs and remain aware when traveling through the work zone.
