Round Rock Express To Give Away Matthew McConaughey Bobbleheads
Texas-born actor to be featured prominently at upcoming home game promoting his foundation focused on health and well-being of youth.

ROUND ROCK, TX — Academy Award-winning actor Matthew McConaughey is no stranger to Austin, where he is often spotted at UT-Austin athletic games rooting the team on. Next month, he'll make a special stop in Round Rock.
The UT alum and Uvalde, Texas, native will figure prominently in Round Rock next month during a baseball game where bobbleheads in his likeness will be given to the first 2,500 fans in attendance. The promotion is designed to raise awareness for the actor's philanthropic foundation aimed at ensuring the health and well-being of youth.
The Round Rock Express is teaming up with the celebrity and his just keep livin Foundation to host "Alright Alright Alright Night" at Dell Diamond on Saturday, Aug. 3. That repeated word is something of a mantra for the actor, a well-known utterance often repeated at interviews delivered in a slow, relaxed speech pattern punctuated with a Texas drawl.

In addition to the bobblehead giveaway, classic Houston Astros' rainbow sky jerseys will be auctioned off, with proceeds benefiting the foundation. Custom-made McConaughey and Express-branded shirts and ball caps also will be available for purchase in the Railyard Team Store, with a portion of proceeds benefiting the actor's foundation.

Back to that bobblehead doll. It's part of the "Texas Legends" bobblehead series, that has also featured likenesses of such Lone Star icons as Earl Campbell, George Strait and Willie Nelson. The McConaughey likeness depicts him during the 2014 Academy Awards, when he portrayed a man afflicted with AIDS in "The Dallas Buyers Club" that earned him critical acclaim.
