Round Rock Kiddie Academy Schedules Free STEM Learning Event

ROUND ROCK, TEXAS — Kiddie Academy officials invite Round Rock area families to explore the world of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math at a free indoor event scheduled this weekend.

The STEM Adventures event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, Jan. 26 and Sunday, Jan. 27. The free community event is designed to introduce children of all ages and their families to the world of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math education through age-appropriate and fun activities. The event is open to all members of the community interested in learning more about Kiddie Academy, or anyone who would simply like to share a special experience with their child.

Activities are based on two themes that combine elements of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math in interactive projects that foster learning through play:

• Out of This World: Making Moon Sand, Creating Craters, Lunar Volcanoes, Using Force to Move Rockets, Making Mini-Constellations and Shooting Stars, Communicating in Space and Mission Control.
• Fun with Machines: Vibrobot Scribble Machine, Marble Run, Wheel and Axle construction, Cardboard Tube Derby, Pulley and Levers.

“We want our local families to see for themselves all the ways in which Kiddie Academy’s Life Essentials® curriculum taps into children’s natural sense of wonder and discovery as they explore the laws that govern the world around them,” explained Mar Ng, owner of Kiddie Academy of Round Rock.

The event also aims to provide parents with ideas on how to introduce STEM education into the home. STEM education in early childhood provides opportunities for building the next generation of scientists, engineers, mathematicians and critical thinkers, officials explained.
