Round Rock Man Who Died At San Antonio United Parcel Service Station Identified

Terry Lee Sawyer, 59, died while trying to hook up his truck to a trailer before the truck rolled back without emergency brakes engaged.

ROUND ROCK, TX — The medical examiner in Bexar County recently identified the Round Rock man who was killed while trying to connect his truck to a double-box trailer last week.

Terry Lee Sawyer, 59, was declared dead at 5:07 a.m. last Tuesday, Oct. 17, at a United Parcel Service facility in San Antonio, according to the San Antonio Express-News. Police said he was attempting to apply air gates to the trailer but hadn't engaged the emergency brakes to his truck, causing it to roll back. Police said the truck rolled over Sawyer when he tried to get it to stop, causing his death.

According to an obituary notice posted by Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Pflugerville, Sawyer worked at UPS for 25 years. A Celebration of Life for Sawyer took place Saturday afternoon.
