Round Rock Is Nation's Best Minor-League Baseball Town In America, Survey Says
But it's not just baseball that makes the city appealing as quality of life and high income levels also figured in the reckoning.

ROUND ROCK, TX -- It's a two run homer for Round Rock: For the second straight year, the city was voted the best minor league baseball town in the nation.
Yes, it's a category. Financial technology company SmartAsset tabulates the results annually to achieve the list of "best" towns hosting a minor-league ball club -- the Round Rock Express in this case.
"While our hometown boys had more regular season losses than wins in 2016, fans filled the stands anyway," city officials noted on the municipal website. "With an average attendance of 8,637 folks per game this year (1.5% higher than it was in 2015), it’s pretty clear that Roundrockians love them some baseball!"

SmartAsset officials noted that it wasn't only baseball that was very, very good to Round Rock in its strong showing on their list. The city's overall quality of life and high income levels figured prominently in the reckoning, they said.
“Another reason why Round Rock takes the top spot in our ranking is the fact that it’s not a bad place to live," the SmartAsset people wrote. "After paying for housing-related expenses – like property taxes and homeowners insurance – the average renter or homeowner ends up with $55,772 left over. So a typical Round Rock resident has more discretionary income than most of the people living in the other cities and towns in our analysis.”
