Round Rock PD Seeks Public's Help Finding Car In Pedestrian Death

Police are seeking the public's help to identify the driver of a van who they say struck and killed a pedestrian on I-35 on March 14.

ROUND ROCK, TX — Round Rock police are seeking the public's help to identify the driver of a vehicle who they say struck and killed a pedestrian on Interstate 35 on March 14.

Police said Angel Contreras, 25, of Georgetown, was walking at about 1 a.m. March 14 on Interstate 35 near the La Margarita Restaurant, just north of Sam Bass Road, when a driver traveling south on the interstate struck and killed him.

After striking Contreras, the van exited I-35 at Road-to-Market Road 620 near Round Rock Avenue, officials said.

Authorities said the car is described as a 1996 to 2002 white Chevy Express van loaded with boxes or luggage on top. The van also has headlight and molding damage on the right front and damage to the passenger’s side mirror.
