Round Rock School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Round Rock is August 22. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Round Rock Independent School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 8/10 - 8/21: Staff Development/Preparation
• 8/22: First Day of School for Students

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)

October

• 10/9 - 10/10: No School for Students (Staff Development Days)

November

• 11/20 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Holiday)

December

• 12/21: End of First Semester
• 12/22: No School for Students (Teacher Work Day)
• 12/25 - 12/29: No School (Winter Break)

January

• 1/1 - 1/5: No School (Winter Break)
• 1/8: No School for Students (Staff Development Day)
• 1/9: Start of Second Semester
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day)

February

• 2/19 - 2/20: No School (Staff Development Days)

March

• 3/12 - 3/16: No School (Spring Break)
• 3/30: No School (Good Friday)

May

• 5/25: Last Day of Classes
• 5/29: Bad Weather Days #1/Teacher Work Day
• 5/30: Bad Weather Days #2/Staff Development
• 5/31: Staff Development
