Round Rock 'Sports Capital of Texas' Reputation Grows With Events
With five national tournaments planned — the most ever staged locally in a single year — city poised for robust economic impact.

ROUND ROCK, TX — This is better than a trifecta: Round Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau officials have announced five national championship tournaments will be staged in Round Rock — already dubbed the 'Sports Capital of Texas' — this year alone.
“Our facilities were designed and built to attract national championship tournaments," Round Rock CVB Director Nancy Yawn said in a prepared statement. "Securing five events of this caliber at the Round Rock Sports Center and our new Round Rock Multipurpose Complex is a great indication that our state-of-the-art venues have exactly the features, amenities and quality that tournament organizers want and need.”
The city is well-equipped to house the myriad tournaments: The Round Rock Multipurpose Complex opened May 2017, while the Round Rock Sports Center opened in January 2014. This year, Round Rock will host more than double the number of national tournaments that the city has ever hosted in one year, officials noted.
