Switch Technology Will Build Data Center In Round Rock
Switch announced June 2 it will build a fifth campus in Round Rock near the Dell Technologies global headquarters.

AUSTIN, TX — A Las Vegas-based technology company plans to build its fifth campus in Round Rock.
Switch, a high-performing computing technology infrastructure company, announced June 2 it will another location in the city next to the Dell Technologies global headquarters.
The property purchased from Dell will allow Switch to construct a 1.5 million-square-foot Tier 5 data center, which will be called The Rock, authorities said.

Switch is set to begin site preparation and permitting this summer, and once completed, The Rock will be part of a large ecosystem of Texas campuses held by the company that will total more than 2 million square feet and 185 megawatts of power, authorities said.
Chamber President and CEO Jason Ball said the number of jobs associated with The Rock campus has yet to be announced.

Similar to its campuses in Las Vegas and Reno, Nevada; Grand Rapids, Michigan; and Atlanta, Switch facilities in Texas will be powered by renewable energy, according to its website.
