Okay, so what we're verifying here is that:

1. If I link to a http patch.com article like: Something To Offend Everyone it renders in https on the frontend.

2. However, if I link to an http non patch site, like the breeder I'm getting my kitties from: Happy Trills Maine Coons it will retain the http protocol because a lot of smaller sites still can't even support redirecting to http from https.
