Williamson County is offering temporary warming centers, charging stations as residents continue to deal with ice-related power outages.

ROUND ROCK, TX — As local residents continue to deal with widespread power outages from the severe winter weather and Wednesday's "crippling" ice storm, Williamson County is offering several warming centers around the county for residents who may need to place to go temporarily while they are without power.

Williamson County officials posted on the county’s website that warming centers are be offered as a place for people to keep warm and for power recharges, officials said.

The emergency warming centers are not, however, set up for extended or overnight stays and may also be at risk of power outages or other service interruptions due to the storm. According to the National Weather Service, a winter storm warning remains in effect for the region through 6 p.m. Thursday, which could also produce more ice.
