Winning Powerball Jackpot Numbers For Oct. 28, 2017, $40M Prize

Check your numbers to see if you've won the reset $40 million prize that has cash option of about $25 million.

AUSTIN, TX — The winning Powerball jackpot numbers for Oct. 28, 2017, are: 27-35-38-57-66 and red ball 10. The prize for anyone matching the digits is $40 million, or an estimated cash value option of $25 million.

"Only $40 million?!?!" you might be asking in disgust. "Hardly worth getting in line for such a paltry amount! Wasn't it at nine figures just the other day?"

Well, yes, it was. Some lucky person in Louisiana matched the winning numbers at the Oct. 25 drawing, winning a prize of $191.1 million Powerball jackpot in Wednesday's drawing, Louisiana lottery officials announced early Thursday.

The cash option on that puppy is valued at about $119.4 million. Someone in the Bayou State is sitting pretty. The winning ticket was sold at an establishment named Brownie's in Eunice, La., according to reports. The store will get a $25,000 bonus for having sold the winning ticket.

The largest prize won in Louisiana before the most recent win was a $97 million Powerball jackpot from the Jan. 16, 2008, drawing claimed by a man in the city of Metairie. In addition to last Wednesday's jackpot winner, two Powerball tickets worth $1 million each were sold in Florida.

The winning numbers that day were: 18, 22, 29, 54, 57, and the Powerball of 08. Again, we don't publish the numbers that someone else match to rub it in your face, but to encourage the checking of non-ginormous-prize-winning tickets to see if they won smaller prizes with fewer number matches.

View the Webcast of the official drawings. Or check back on this story come Wednesday, Nov. 1, when we'll have the winning numbers drawn then.
