Sailor Injured In NAS Corpus Christi Shooting
The sailor is in good condition and expected to be released from the hospital later on Thursday. The shooter no longer poses a threat.
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — A sailor was injured in a shooting at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi Thursday morning, officials said.
The shooting happened around 6:15 a.m. near the station's North Gate. The shooter was shot and killed by security personnel, according to a U.S. official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss details about an ongoing investigation.
An active shooter at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi has been "neutralized," the station said.

The sailor injured in the shooting is in good condition and is expected to be released from the hospital later on Thursday, the FBI's Houston division said.
Those on base were ordered to lock down as the shooting unfolded. The North Gate remains closed while the South Gate is now open.
