Alamo Heights School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Alamo Heights is August 21. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Alamo Heights Independent School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

• 8/14: Convocation
• 8/14 - 8/16: Staff Development

• 8/21: First Day of School

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)

October

• 10/9: No School for Students (Staff Development)
• 10/17: First 9 Weeks End
• 10/18: Second 9 Weeks Begin
• 10/24 - 10/25: Early Release (Parent Conferences)
• 10/26: Early Release (Staff Development)

November

• 11/20 - 11/21: No School for Students (Staff Development/Trade Days)
• 11/22 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Break)

December

• 12/20: Second 9 Weeks End
• 12/21 - 12/29: No School (Winter Break)

January

• 1/1 - 1/3: No School (Winter Break)
• 1/4: Third 9 Weeks Begin
• 1/15: No School (MLK Day)

February
