Bexar County Goverment: S.A. Man To Spend The Rest Of His Life In Prison For Years-Long Sexual Abuse Of Young Girls

A San Antonio man was sentenced to life in prison Tuesday after he was convicted of continuous sexual abuse of a child.

John Anthony Clede, 46, was accused of sexually abusing two young girls from June 2015 through November 2018. During the course of a four day trial in the 175th District Court, the girls testified about the years of abuse they endured from Clede. A jury convicted Clede of continuous sexual abuse of a child and aggravated sexual assault of a child.

Judge Catherine Torres-Stahl sentenced Clede to life in prison for the continuous sexual abuse of a child charge and 40 years in prison for the charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child.

“Cases like this are a priority for the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office and our Family Violence Division. These brave children faced their abuser in court and now this defendant will not get the opportunity to victimize them or any other child. I allocated more resources to our Family Violence Division so that they can focus on seeking justice for our most vulnerable victims of crime and this case is just the latest example of the hard work of our entire team,” said District Attorney Joe Gonzales.

Assistant District Attorneys Kristen Mulliner and Oscar Pena prosecuted the case. Their trial team also included Victim Advocate Yadi Tamez and Bexar County D.A. Investigator Ralph Garcia. The case was investigated by the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.

“The defendant spent the first part of his life victimizing the citizens of Bexar County, including two young children who he sexually abused for years. It’s only appropriate that he spend the rest of his life in prison,” said Mulliner.

Because Clede was convicted of continuous sexual abuse, he is not eligible for parole.
