Julian Castro Ends Bid For Presidency
The former mayor of San Antonio announced the suspension of his campaign on Thursday.

Julian Castro, the former Mayor of San Antonio and the former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, dropped out of the 2020 race for the Democratic nomination for president. Castro was the only Latino candidate in the race.
"I'm so proud of everything we've accomplished together," Castro wrote in a tweet announcing that he was suspending his campaign. "I'm going to keep fighting for an America where everyone counts—I hope you'll join me in that fight."
Castro, who launched his campaign in January, dropped out after failing to garner enough support in the polls or donations to make recent Democratic debates. A former San Antonio mayor who was the only Latino in the race, Castro had stalled for most of his campaign around 1% in polls and entered October low on money.
