Local Physical Therapist to Present at Orlando Conference
Marie Charpentier has been invited to speak at the 2019 American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists' Annual Conference.

Physical Therapist Marie Charpentier has been invited to speak at the 2019 American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists’ Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida, on Oct. 26. Charpentier is a member of the lead faculty for the Institute for Athlete Regeneration in San Antonio.
Charpentier will deliver a presentation entitled “What the clamshell is wrong with our return to running programs?” The lecture will highlight the end stages of rehabilitating a runner, with an emphasis on bridging the gap between running rehabilitation and running performance. The presentation will focus on redefining musculoskeletal health by combining manual therapy skills with performance-based exercise and will explore various exercise schemes.
Charpentier is a board-certified specialist in orthopaedics and sports. She received her bachelor’s degree in sports medicine from the University of Virginia and a doctoral degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. She completed an orthopaedic physical therapy residency and orthopaedic manual therapy fellowship in sports rehabilitation at the prestigious Kaiser Permanente.
