National Immunization Awareness Month In San Antonio

Metro Health will observe National Immunization Awareness Month from August 1-August 31.

From the City of San Antonio: August is National Immunization Awareness Month, and San Antonio Metropolitan Health District (Metro Health) wants to remind community members of the importance of staying up-to-date with vaccines, even after childhood. Vaccines play an important role in protecting against diseases like the flu, measles and pneumonia.Metro Health will observe National Immunization Awareness Month from August 1-August 31. During this time, Metro Health encourages community members to protect themselves and their loved ones from serious diseases by getting all recommended vaccines on time.

August is also an important time to ensure your child has all needed vaccines to stay healthy for heading back to school. Metro Health encourages you talk to your doctor, nurse, or other healthcare professional to ensure you, your child, your family are up-to-date on recommended vaccines.
