Northside School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Northside is August 28. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Northside Independent School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

• 8/24 - 8/25: Staff Work Day
• 8/28: First Day of School

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)

• 10/9: No School for Students (Staff Development)

November

• 11/20 - 11/21: No School for Students (Staff Development)
• 11/22 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Break)

December

• 12/21 - 1/2: No School (Winter Break)

January

• 1/1 - 1/2: No School (Winter Break)
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day)
• 1/18 - 1/19: High School Early Release (Exams)
• 1/19: End of First Semester
• 1/22: Start of Second Semester

February

• 2/19: No School for Students (Staff Development), Bad Weather Makeup Day

March

• 3/12 - 3/16: No School (Spring Break)
• 3/30: No School (Easter Break)

April

• 4/27: No School (Battle of Flowers)

May

• 5/28: No School (Memorial Day)
