Richard Hyde, the General Consul of UK in Houston, and Jon Marrs, the Regional Director for the South Central USA of the UK Consulate’s Department for International Trade, both have a vested interest in the engagement and growth of the San Antonio region. They were accompanied by mutually engaged members of the UK Consul, Andrew Dunrossil and Kate Wilkinson, as well as longtime friend and ally of the Chamber, Sherry Dowlatshahi who is the Chief Diplomacy and Protocol Officer for the City of San Antonio. These leaders and business advocates sat with members of our team and interested Chamber members to discuss potential growth for international relations and trade with the UK.
This work of thinking not only beyond the borders of Texas but beyond the borders of the US takes creative and dynamic leaders who are actively engaged in the growth and acceleration of our city. Therefore, we are deeply grateful for a strong relationship with the UK Consulate. The hope is to drive change related to credentials for skilled workers, allowing for mobility between state, national, and international industries. This will allow interested members on both sides to seek opportunities for relocation and advancement in their careers.
