San Antonio Chamber Of Commerce: Port San Antonio Nears Completion On New Five-Story Office Building.

The Port has become an integral part of San Antonio’s growing ecosystem and a close partner of the Chamber. Their presence in our city has led to huge job growth for the technology and innovation industry, providing jobs in aerospace, defense, global logistics, manufacturing, cybersecurity, and education. Over the course of the more than 20 years that the Port has been opened, they have emerged as one of the most successful base redevelopment efforts in the country. More than 80 public and private sector tenant customers are homed at the Port, directly employing over 12,000 people on the campus.

This economic powerhouse is continuing to grow as they complete the construction of Project Tech Building 2. This five-story office building on the 1900-acre technology campus will span more than 174,000 square feet and is located on a 16-acre parcel on the east corner of the Port. As a part of their grand opening for the building earlier this week, the Port welcomed the Chamber and a gathering of interested industry leaders, educators, and innovators into this new space. On the fifth floor of this new building, the city of San Antonio can be seen from a 360 view, and within the walls of this new building, the catalyst for company and job growth that the Port has provided for San Antonio was proudly on display. Booths lined the giant windows of the fifth floor and were filled with innovative technologies that exhibited the successes and innovation that has poured out of the Port over the last 20 plus years. Project Tech Building 2 is fully leased and will be the new home to several tech and innovation companies upon completion.

As Port San Antonio continues to drive tech and innovative growth, the Chamber is proud to partner with and work alongside this powerhouse.
