They have been seeking input from relevant stakeholders, including residents, educational leaders, trade and labor organizations, community organizations, business leaders, subject matter specialists, the SA: Ready to Work Advisory Board, and the City Council.  During May 2021, the City publicly posted a draft of the RFP for view and comment. Several of you submitted helpful comments and some significant changes were made to the RFP.

On July 6th, the City will issue the “SA: Ready to Work Program Implementation” request for proposals (RFP). This RFP will encompass the majority of the services necessary to implement the SA: Ready to Work program, including intake, assessment, case management (including educational guidance and enrollment, career guidance, job placement, and wraparound services to ensure success) and training. Respondents may propose to complete some or all of the services referenced above. Both individual and group proposals will be accepted.

The City is hosting an in-person community meeting on Thursday, July 1st, at 9:00am in the Cantilever Room of the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center to provide an overview of the RFP and share the highlights of the changes incorporated into the RFP based on community feedback.

In the coming weeks, the City will issue two additional RFPs relating to SA: Ready to Work, for Community Outreach and Marketing and for Program Evaluation.  Each will be advertised separately.

Please RSVP to workforce@sanantonio.gov by 5:00pm Tuesday June 29th if you can attend the community meeting.
