June 29, 2021

San Antonio – San Antonio International Airport (SAT) received a top industry award from Airports Council International (ACI) World. ACI, widely considered the industry leader in benchmarks and standards, announced SAT as one of the 2021 Director General’s Roll of Excellence in Airport Service Quality Award recipients. The ACI Director General’s Roll of Excellence recognizes airports that have consistently delivered excellence in customer service by winning multiple ASQ awards.

This year San Antonio International Airport was one of six airports in the world to receive one of the industry’s highest honors. The accolade is given to airports that have won multiple Airport Service Quality Awards (ASQ) over a five-year period during the last ten years.

This highly regarded award was established in 2011 to provide additional recognition to those airports with excellent ratings according to passenger surveys. Only fifty-eight airports worldwide have received the award since its inception.

“SAT having won awards for Best Airport with 5-15 Million Passengers, Best Hygiene Measures in the Region, Voice of the Customer and now the Roll of Excellence from the industry’s top organization validates everything we have done and continue to do here in San Antonio, “said Jesus H. Saenz, Jr., Director of Airports, San Antonio Airport System. “This is a tremendous honor for our dedicated team”.

SAT is one of two airports recognized in the United States and one of six airports in the world to be awarded the top honor:

Bangalor, India
Guangzhou, China
Cochin, India
Portland, Maine
Toronto, Canada

The airports will be honored later this year at the ACI Customer Experience Global Summit in Montreal, Canada.
